NEW JCSSA ONLINE FORUM (members click here)

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

The three new pistol bays are now open! Members need to bring their own targets, as no target stands are planned to be constructed. DO NOT attach targets to the trees.

As a reminder, do not use 00 buck in shotguns on any of the ranges. The ONLY shotguns allowed on the range are to use BIRD SHOT ONLY for the purpose of patterning, and nothing else.

Anyone INTENTIONALLY defacing any range property (i.e. shooting oles in chairs, porta potties, awnings, trailers, storage buildings, backstop posts, etc.) will be referred to the Johnson County Sheriff's Department and charges will be filed for destruction of personal property. Offenders will lose their membership. JCSSA spends a lot of time and money trying to see that members and their guests have a nice, clean, safe place to enjoy the sport of shooting.

JCSSA encourages members and guests to pick up their own brass. We do, however pay someone to pick up and sort brass, steel & aluminum cases left on the ranges. The receptacles on the range for brass, steel and aluminum cases are the property of JCSSA and anyone unauthorized to remove any brass from these will be inviting us to recommend to the board that their membership be cancelled.

Safety at JCSSA is paramount. Be certain no one is down range prior to handling a firearm. We have had reports of people setting up on the rifle range while other shooters were down range taping and retrieving targets.

When enjoying our JCSSA shooting range, DO NOT use items such as bottles, cans, water jugs, etc. as targets. These types of targets are prohibited. Not only are these types of targets potentially dangerous, they create a mess that someone else has to clean up. Also, all members are asked to remove their targets when they are finished and throw them in the trash or take the targets with them.

Jimmy Fox, JCSSA President
